difference in our country.

One resident said "I can't do a lot for myself currently but it sure feels good to vote for our next President of the United States this is one thing I can still do."

Spearly Shows its Colors with the "Alive with Colors Carnival"

A Beautiful Day in Denver, Colorado

One of our greatest events here at Spearly is our "Alive with Colors Carnival." Residents nurture the spirit of life by enjoying such games as poker,
ring toss, frisbee golf, and face painting. These activities were attended by most residents here at Spearly, along with family members and community guests. One resident expressed," I sure love getting my face painted. I feel so special."

What would a carnival be without fabulous carnival food? The tasty nachos with extra cheese and jalapenos, caramel apples with dripping hot caramel, tasty fresh fruit, and don't forget those tasty smoothies. Yum!!! The day was a huge success.

Cherish The Journey at Veterans Day Celebration at Spearly

Have you ever sat on a rock and thought about your past? We had a very special day with our Veterans at Spearly. They shared the day with
memories of the past, when they served their country in the Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard. One of our residents showed us
his photo when he served with his dog. He was so proud!

Taking the time and listening to our families can teach us so much. What away to learn about history without reading a book. The emotions
that they bring with telling the stories is so overwhelming. We are so proud to have so many heroes be apart of our Spearly Family.

2nd Annual Spearly Tailgate Party

ROCK YOUR COLORS AT SPEARLY!

This is an event that not only do our residents and staff look forward to but our own Denver Community. The Bronco Cheerleaders join us for a
couple hours of tailgating fun. We grill hotdogs and add several toppings such as ketchup, mustard, relish and onions. Then on the side we experience Spearly's famous nachos with dripping nacho cheese and jalapenos. We also enjoyed ice cold soda pop in the famous tailgating coolres. The Bronco Cheerleaders take photo with everyone who wants one and then gives out autographed 2012 posters. Wow what a hit! This event is talked about for weeks and the question is always when is the next one?

Nurture your spirit of life next year at Juniper Village at The Spearly Center.

Friendship Continues to Grow in Colorado

Our mission of nurturing the spirit of life we fulfill by celebrating friendships. To each one of us at Spearly it is important for us to spread the joy of life and enjoy each others company. We do this in many ways. One fun way was to dress up and act silly for the day. We laughed and giggled so hard.

It is always fun to come together and share common experiences. We enjoy this with our friends throughout the community. This continues to
bring us together and keep us growing. We learn so much from each other.

At Spearly we treasure our friendships and celebrate each day by doing more and more fun activities together.

Dylan consistently displays patience and kindness toward the residents. He always makes extra time in his schedule to further personalize the care and visitation he gives to the residents. Dylan takes initiative to complete his responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner. He is always ready to step in and help anyone in need. Spirit Week is enjoyed with our Sidekicks at Spearly

Nurturing the spirit of life through having fun with our sidekicks. The week was full of activities from crazy hairday, hat day, twin day and many other fun things. Not only did the residents love having fun
but so did the staff. It was a great week to kick back and enjoy each other while getting silly.

Spread your joy with those friends in Colorado

Alive in all Seasons at Spearly is celebrated with friendships. Friendships double your joy and helps divide your grief. Without friends how would you feel? Friendships help define our lives and bring us happiness. At Juniper Village at the Spearly Center some us us share lifelong comrades or have made fiends with new acquaintances.

Associates and residents share friendships through the sidekicks program which each staff is paired up with a resident to share time together doing things such as BBQ's, walks and just listening to each other.

Please feel Free to stop by The Spearly Center and share in spreading the joy with all of our friends.

A Sunny Day at the Park

Our mission at Juniper Village at the Spearly Center is to nurture the spirit of life in each individual we touch. One of the ways we do that for our residents is to take frequent outings to our beautiful Colorado parks. Being outdoors has been clinically proven to improve both mood and cognition. Ever notice how taking a walk almost immediately clears your head of clutter and negative thoughts? So what better way to nurture our spirits and engage our bodies and minds!

Taking a picnic in the park also gives us a chance to feel our incredible Colorado sunshine, to listen to the birds chirping, to watch the geese chasing each other for a scrap of food, and to engage in the always enjoyable pastime of "people watching" and even better, "dog watching". Of course, we also get to sample some terrific home-cooked picnic goodies fresh out of the Spearly kitchen. Juniper Village . . . . . just another day at the park.

Chef Daniel at Rootdown Restaurant shows us how to cook

Rootdown Restaurant Chef Daniel connects the neighborhood to a dining experience in the same way ingredients are connected to food. He shares a few hours with us sharing how to create a wonderful tasting gazpacho. Wow, really tasty! Mike, a resident, says it is the best thing he has ever tasted. We thank Chef Daniel for coming to Spearly and showing off his talents.
